Hi,

I am Indian IT male. 650 GMAT score, voluntary work,3 US patents. 10+ year experience, low toefl(99). Please rate my chances for UCLA femba and USCPM.

In my essay I wrote that I want to pursue mba in operations mgmt. But I have never seen anybody looking for a career in operations. Sincerely, I like the operations management. Did I make a mistake (by mentioning operations as my choice). But the reason for selecting operations is strong, it matches my engineering work of optimizing software products.

Please suggest

Thanks

Dear tamegemat,

There are MBAs that enter the field of operations, and it was not a "mistake" to write about your true career goals in your applications. What might be a concern is whether or not you applied to appropriate programs for your career goals. If you have done your research and believe the two programs you applied to are a good match for your career goals, then you should not worry about this aspect of your application.

Good luck,
Lisa
