Profile Evaluation

Hi,

I am an Indian candidate with following credentials :

GMAT 730
Undergraduate Study : Engineering Degree in Computer Science -2010 - 71%( from Govt. Engg. college)
#Headed IEEE & CSI committee once.

Work Experience : Total : (November 2010 - Till Now)
# Accenture Services Pvt Ltd - Software Engineer ( till Dec. 2012)
# Ernst & Young - Consultant - Business Advisory Services

Key highlights of work experience :
#Worked for second largest Chemical , Natural Resources & FMCG clients.
#Achieved numerous out performer awards for quality initiatives .
#Currently leading a team of 3 ppl for a very prestigious client(UK based).

CSR :
#Actively working as a member of NGO from college days, helped in fund raising and part of skill based program operated by them.
#My family runs a NGO & have been involved from fund raising to execution stage.


Currently I am working in Business Advisory Services -(Technology + operational Consulting role)at (Ernst & Young).

Short term Goal : I want to enter Strategy consulting or technological/general management roles with focus on strategy.

Long term Goal : I want to join my family NGO full time and take it forward to international level recognition (Might have an advantage if I tag myself to an IVY league international B school).

I am primarily targeting US B schools( Top 11-20) & looking forward for your suggestions over my profile improvement & target B schools.

#If I secure an admission this year , would have a work ex of 3.5 years at time of joining college

You should be very competitive in your target range. A high GMAT, solid work experience for internationally recognized company and leadership experience as well. Your years in the field should be enough to "qualify" but it's really more about what you have done and not how long you have done it. Having achieved awards from your company and also leading teams across a dynamic consulting environment will make you valuable in classroom discussions and also an attractive post MBA consulting candidate. The fact your pre and post MBA career achievements and goals line up with each other will also be a solid story to sell to the adcoms. If you can articulate this vision in a clear and compelling way, there should be no reason you won't find a seat in one or more of your target schools.
