Dear Consultant,
Hoping to get honest feedback and opinion about my profile. I plan to apply for 2010 admissions.
Here are my details:
1. Age: 27, Indian IT Male with 5 years work Experience.
Have worked in 4 Telecom Companies (Few Telecom Majors & a Start Up & Top Indian IT Exporter). Currently working as Project Lead.
Have worked on various kinds of project starting from Maintainence, Testing, Develoment, Management.
Have been on a short term 3 months visit to Israel on Duty.
2. Targeting GMAT score of : 750 (Plan to take GMAT in March 2009).
3. Education: Bachelor Degree in Electronics & Communication from Good University in India (Bangalore).
4. CGPA: 3.4
Extracurricular activities:
1. I dont know if this helps. Do play very good Table Tennis and have won an award for a tournament within company.
2. Involved in social work like Teaching @ Orphanages, organising small events. Social work limited to small scale.
3. Sing well (Not Competitive).
4. Face & Palm reading have been a major hobby since 4 years and so far have been having 90% accuracy. I know this sounds stupid but all my friends and family say I predict well. I really dont know if this helps as there are many to vouch for my predictions so far (Not political prediction, strictly personal). The only disadvantage I face is I cannot predict my own! Please drop this point if it is not making any sense (I apologize).
I am interested in applying full time to top schools in US, Europe and India.
Following are my doubts:
1. Will I loose out on admissions because my Age @ time of admissions would be 28 yrs and stereotype applicant profile (Indian IT with 6.5 yrs exp)
2. Do my profile carry enough weightage to get into Top schools like HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Ross, Tuck, LBS, INSEAD? Can you please tell me where am I falling short of? What efforts are to be made to make it up there.
3. Do I deserve to get into Good schools at all or Is it end of story that I may not do my MBA? Or is it my illusion that I feel I can make it to Top B Schools?
Actually an year back I decided to give my GMAT, so started goin through beatthegmat and various other GMAT forums, GMAT strategies, success stories, admission stories etc. However preparation took a back seat due to time limitations at work. Now however I believe I can spare time for my GMAT exam prep, Appl process and have got time to do some reasearch on various B Schools/programmes offered before I actually start my MBA.
Please advice. I need an honest opinion to take a Life changing decision for myself to make a great career.
Suggestion on what needs to be done in order to get an admit to great B Schools will be of greatest help!
Thanks for sparing your time.
