You seem to have a strong profile. To select schools you need to define your career goals and identify those schools which are most likely to help you meet them. Your work experience is somewhat light, but the quality of your responsibility could make up for that. I am sure you recognize that there are many thousands of strong, technically-trained applicants from India that apply to the top international schools each year. That greatly reduces the chances for any one individual to gain acceptance. If you are determined to go to school next year. you should be sure to include a couple of "safety" schools on your list.

Good luck,
Tani Wolff

Thanks Tani. I would be really glad if you could name a few schools cos I have no idea where to start now. I wish to pursue a career in the Equity Markets side in a reputed Investment Bank post MBA. I am predominantly looking at the US schools and was planning to apply for schools like Chicago Booth and Stanford. But their admission statistics worry me mainly for the fact I have a lesser than average work experience. Also please let me know how I could compensate for a lesser WE in my application.

Your best bet is to get a reliable guide such as US News or Topmba.com to see what the GMAT scores are for various schools. THere are many websites that will guide you. Also, Richard Montauk's book "How to Get Into the Top MBA Programs" is a great guide to all things associated with your application.

Any well-regarded school will have a strong finance program. You might try researching your ideal employers and seeing where their managers went to school. Also, most schools will tell you what companies interview on campus and where their graduates work.

To increase your chances overall, consider schools that accept 30% or more of their applicants. WIth your strong GMAT you should be in a good position for such schools.
