Well, there are many options here. First yes part-time is an option if that's what you want. Part-time can work if the programs you want to attend are near you, and you can continue to work and pull salary and if your goals are in the same industry as your experience.


But do you want part-time? Or do you really prefer full-time and are only considering PT because of the somewhat disappointing GMAT? Again, it's a good thought, but something which needs to be thought through.

I think for PT programs you will be fine if you decide to go for them. For full-time programs, at USC I think things will be possible if you make a good application. And actually even at UCLA. it should be possible (although harder) with a very strong story.

So the question is what do you want to do?
1. Retake the GMAT and apply later - this is a good option if you are confident you can get 30+ points higher, and in the case that you know you can get higher and/or this was your first test, it might be the right option. I mean, you can for sure make at least one retake till end of September.

2. Decide that Part-time is really good enough for you, maybe even better because you continue to pull salary for the duration of the program.

3. Decide you want to do go full-time and now, taking your chances. And then you just apply. And in this case options 1 and 2 will still be open for you next year if you don't make it in.

This is how I see things, more or less. Obviously it's much easier to advise when I know all your views on the matter, and all the details, but I hope this helps,
