3 Attempts ( 640-660-660) - Please Help

Hi,


Please advice on the suggested course of action.
I will be highly greatful.


I have now taken the GMAT three times.

1st Attempt (Nov'11)- 640 (48Q, 28V)
2nd Attempt (Sep'12)- 660 (48Q, 34V)
3rd Attempt (Nov'12)- 660 (48Q, 33V) - Sad, But I had prepared really hard for this one.Also my average score in Verbal in mocks was 38-39.

Target B- Schools- ISB, Nanyang, NUS, HKUST, CEIBS

Short summary of my profile:

>Male from Northern India, 26 yrs.

>Undergraduate education: B.tech at an average University within India

>Undergraduate: ~72%

>Work experience: 4 yrs+ in Sales & Marketing at one of world's reputed MNC 's.

>Extracurricular activities: Nothing to really talk about , just a national level competition in college and some philanthropy.

I am really pondering on whether to apply this year or to go for another attempt at GMAT in next month. I really think i can score better in Verbal. Also, I really want to get into the B schools i have mentioned above.


Please advice on the suggested course of action.
I will be highly greatful.

Thanks thestartupguy... But i have already done that for 2 months before my last attempt.. Also, I was getting a constant 38-39 in verbal before the test date. But somehow it didn't click that day. Will it not look funny on the score card if I am not able to improve my overall score by at least 50 points in my 4th attempt ??

Well, since I assume anyhow that you will be applying next September, it makes sense to retake the GMAT at least once. I know that it must be frustrating by now, but also keep in mind that there is some luck and circumstance involved. I know people who retook the GMAT after a 620, and without studying got a 690 the next time? Why? Maybe they were more relaxed? Maybe they got lucky?

whatever, since you have the time, it can't really harm you. But if you see that you aren't getting a better score (which BTW should not affect your application negatively in any way), then you apply to appropriate schools with the score you already have.
