Request for Profile Evaluation

Hello Everybody,

Request you to kindly evaluate my profile and let me know if I would be fit for the following business schools.

Name - Vijay Swaminathan
GMAT - Male
Work Experience - IT professional working in Oracle India Pvt Ltd.
- 8.5 years of work ex.
- Role - Project Lead


GMAT - 650 (Q48,V30). IR score is only 2. AWA yet to receive.

Education:

B.Tech in Information Technology, JBIT college of Engineering, affiliated to JNTU, Telangana (Formerly Andhra Pradesh), India
GPA - 6.8/10

I am looking to apply for the ONE year mba programs and looking at the following business schools for admissions.

Nanyang business school (Singapore),
Emory business school (USA),
Mendoza college of business (USA),
Marshall school of business (USA)

Also can you please let me know if there is any chance to secure a scholarship/aid as I would find it difficult to fund the mba my taking a complete loan.

Vijay,

Thank you for your post. I recommend retaking the GMAT in order to give yourself the best chance of getting in. Your demographic is competitive and with your age and work experience, if you could increase your score (IR included), you would have a better chance. Have you considered tutoring? Hi Vijay,

You have strong profile with 8.5 years work experience.You can also target Rice University, Rochester Simon. If you can retake GMAT and improve your score then you can improve your chances. Scholarships are decided based on overall profile and not only your academics and GMAT so focus on your application which carries more weightage and do well.

VIjay,

Our simple suggestion will be to retake GMAT by Nov end ( may be you are already doing that) and improve GMAT score by 30 points. Also, IR 2 will be a dealbreaker. So, work hard to improve that as well.

With your profile and better GMAT, schools you have mentioned are all achievable.
