Well, coming from a country with not so many applicants will be helpful, as well as working for a big name firm. And your very sweet GPA is excellent as well. You Military Service as well should be something you could pull some amazing stories out of.
Now as far as your chances, you have a chance in all the schools you mentioned, although LBS will be a bit of a stretch. LSE, however doesn't have a full-time MBA program.

As for other schools, there's a million! You need to chat with us first about your location preferences, goals, etc.

One final thought as a "parting shot". You could definitely apply this year with decent chances. But given your age and work experience, I would ask: What's the rush? Why not start preparing now for application next year? That will give you the time to apply in R1 and at the same time give you an opportunity to get a higher score on your GMAT which will only improve your chances.

Hello Jon,

Thanks for your advice. Are you implying that Oxford is easier than LBS to get into? Because as far as I know, Oxford has a better brand name because of its long term establishment (I might be wrong though).

The reason why I want to do MBA now is my military service. I didn't volunteer to serve my 1-year service, actually. And it came right in the middle of my tenure at KPMG, so my career came to a halt. Without the military, I would have received my promotion due to my strong performance. So I think that, since my career has already came to a halt, it's better to go study now than to go back to work for another year then pause my career once again to go to study.

I would like to go only to the USA or the UK. For the UK, I prefer Oxford and LBS. For the US, I am thinking of Wharton, Kellog, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, etc. Are these reachable, and what other universities in the US would be appropriate?

Thanks!

Hello,
I seeeee. Well, for your school choice, you can definitely apply to Wharton, Kellogg, Columbia. But they are a bit of stretch for you given your GMAT. Which means that if your intention is to absolutely get in THIS year so as to make things easier because as you wrote, anyhow you were obliged to leave your job, the wisest thing would be to add some Second Tier schools in which you would be more competitive, and even a school or two which would be "Safe schools". The reasoning being, that if you are banking on getting in and aren't looking for a job, you don;t want a nasty surprise at the end of the season, and you want to cover all eventualities.

As for Oxford v. LBS, although yes, Oxford is a more famous university, LBS turns up higher ranked for its MBA program than Oxford, and has better international prestige (although don;t get me wrong, Oxford is a wonderful program!)
