from what i've heard the following are more heavily quant focused...Am I wrong? what am i missing?

Sloan
UChicago
Wharton?

also--what is a good resource for identifying the method of teaching--more case-based vs. lecture-based...? or is there a pretty standard reputation certain schools have...?

Deag LB20,

Thanks for your post!

The schools you mention are all known for being very rigorous across the board, with an expectation that all enrolled students can tackle subjects in an analytical way (with quantitative analysis underpinning conclusions, etc). All three of these programs use a mix of the case method, lecture, group discussions and team projects as means of instruction.

To find out more about the teaching methods employed - as well as the mix (% case vs. % lecture, etc), you should start by investigating the MBA program web sites. Beyond that, if you are looking for independent analysis of each school with direct comparison to peers in terms of teaching method, core requirements, etc, I would check out the Clear Admit School Guides (e-books, available for download) and the 'Trivia Tuesday' section of the Clear Admit blog (free).
