The "urgent" nature of this request being...???

Your profile is quite common; there's lots of candidates coming from India with a very similar background, and the competition is therefore intense. Obviously there's more to you than just the GMAT and GPA and so the schools do in fact look at the entirety of the application. However, it's very difficult to offer much worthwhile feedback in the limited space of a forum post. If you do some searches here you will likely find many many others with a similar background/set of stats and you can see what they've been told. Here's one just for starters: https://www.beatthegmat.com/post421753.html#421753

Sorry that this answer isn't very useful. Your GMAT score and GPA definitely qualify you for any school; it's how you present yourself in the essays that's going to make the difference now. You're going to have an easier time with schools like Ross or Cornell (just to throw out two possible names); the chances of getting into a Top 5 are tight for anyone. If there's impressive stories to pull from in your background then it makes all the difference. We talk about the challenges of the Indian applicant in this post on the EssaySnark blahg: https://essaysnark.com/2012/11/indians-a ... -school-1/

You can find all our posts for Indian applicants starting here: https://essaysnark.com/candidate_type/indian/

You've come to the right place, there's great resources here on Beat the GMAT, and you're starting with enough time to make it happen. Good luck along the way! The MBA application process has got a lot of ups and downs but it's well worth it.

Thanks EssaySnark for your advice.

I required an urgent evaluation of my profile as I would be travelling extensively for the next 2-3 months and would not be able to put in efforts into my applications then. Wanted to get started with the applications while i have time at hand.

Most schools don't release their apps until June so you're gonna be in a holding pattern for awhile no matter what. Of course, there's plenty to be done in researching the individual programs so it's good you're getting started. Just keep in mind that it's much more important to form your own opinions of whether a school is a good match or not; just 'cuz someone on the interwebs says School X doesn't mean School X is right for you.

Good luck with it!

Hi Mahapatra,

With the given information, you may target schools like: Darden, Ross, Cornell, McCombs, CMU-Tepper, Kenan-Flagler, Minnesota-Carlson, USC-Marshall, Emory, Rotman, Schulich, McGill and Richard Ivey. As the avg. GMAT range of these schools is between 620-720, you have fair chances of being selected. Next step would be to proficiently write application essays and work hard on interviews to convert your chances from application to admission.

Let me know if you require any assistance in selection of b-schools & profile evaluation. You may PM your details for discussion in length.

Regards
Erina
