Dear Consultants,

I am planning to apply for a top Master of Finance program and right after the MF program I want to apply for an MBA.
I wonder whether I should mention my intention to apply for an MBA.
Would my intention to get an additional degree(MBA) be a plus or minus in the eyes of an admission committee?

Thank you.

Doubt it. It would probably make you seem confused, or maybe "the eternal student". The problem is that there is a decent amount of overlap between the two degrees. It's not like you are gonna do a Masters in Bio, and then an MBA which can make sense given your goals. Better to just focus on that one degree in your apps.

Thank you for reply.

I have one more question.
I am about to apply in the second round, and I feel that I underperformed on the GMAT(my score is 50 points lower than the school's average score).
I want to retake the GMAT in the summer 2012 with the hope to improve it. Should I mention my intention to retake the GMAT?

Thank you in advance.

Nah. It's be like mentioning "your intention to get a promotion" :). Until it's in the hand, the school won't care. So just do the best you can with what you got.
