Hi All,

Need some advice. I am hoping to apply in Round 3 for the EWMBA program at Haas. The deadline for the application is tomorrow and i took the GMAT yesterday and scored 580 (Q44, V25), quite disappointing.

Should i still apply or wait till next year?

Below is a little about myself:
Male
25
Native speaker, born in the UK and moved to the states in 2001.
Undergrad - California State University - 3.7GPA - finished in 3 years with high honors
CPA license holder
Roughly 5 years of work experience - first three years in FP&A groups at public companies and the last two years working at an investment firm, focusing on the energy technology space.
My recommendations include my prior boss (CFO of a public company and alumnus of Haas) and my current boss (investment bank of over 15 years).

What should i do? please help.....application is due in 32 hours!

Hi,

I would recommend that you retake your GMAT and apply in round 1 next year.
Your low GMAT score is too low for the program so your chances for admission are not that high and it's gonna be harder to re-apply rather than submitting your first application with a satisfactory GMAT score.

I recommend retaking the GMAT, and postponing your application. From your background, there is a good chance with the right preparation you can score much better. This would greatly boost your chances.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, that GMAT score won't be competitive even in the part-time program. I would take the summer to prep for another go at the GMAT and apply R1 next season. Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice. Barring the program opening a round 4 and enough time to retake, I will be applying next year.

Any tips to significantly improve my verbal score? I think if become more of an active reader it will help.
