Hi,

I am an Indian Male, 24 years old and working as an in-house consultant in a reputed automobile firm in India.
My goal is to become an operations and strategic consultant in an organization which caters to need of clients from manufacturing or service sector.

I have 37 months of work experience. My GMAT score is 690 Q 49 V 34

My acads are good with a GPA of 8.2/10 from a reputed university ( not IIT)

I have had the opportunity to mentor young recruits in the organization and also take on several challenges and solving them. I was also a Class Representative in college for 2 years.

My Extra curricular activities are good where I have been involved in community service in the past and also organized several festival and events in the college.

Can you please help me in selecting the college and how my chances are to get into a decent North American B-School.
My dream is to get into Carnegie Mellon (Tepper)

I am also targeting Kelley, Emory ,Mcdonough,Kennan Flagler,Rotman, WP Carey ( Arizona) and Purdue.

Thanks
J

Hey there good sir!

So very briefly I'd like to share with you my first two thoughts: I'd suggest 1. aiming for a higher GMAT and 2. Applying next year, which is great because they go hand in hand.

Why??? Because first of all your GMAT is good but not great, esp. for an Indian candidate, and IF you can get higher you want to absolutely make sure you DO!! Because you have what seems to be a good profile, and you don't want to be applying with a less than perfect GMAT score if you can do otherwise. Secondly, we are only one month away from R2 deadlines (as an international candidate, this is effectively the last round for you), you likely aren't gonna have enough time to send in five fantastic apps by the deadlines.

So if you think you can get 30 points more on the GMAT it is totally worth it for you to retake cause then you'd have a REAL chance at your dreamschool.

Let me know your thoughts!

And I hope this helps!
