Can u pl advise me on my chances of admission to the following schools? I would like to know whether i stand a realistic chance before applying. I had earlier posted a 'profile evaluation' topic but had not mentioned my target schools at the time so making another post
Here is a breakdown of my profile
GMAT: 750. Q49 (87%) V44 (97%) AWA 6
GPA: 3.7 from a premier institute in India
Industry: Engineering (shipbuilding)
Nationality: Indian
Work Profile: 2 yrs full-time work ex
positions held: Production planner, Sr production engineer, currently management trainee (promoted after 1st yr)
Extra-curriculars:
volunteering at a local NGO and with our organization's CSR team; jobs taken up in the former include awareness campaigns on world environment day and coordinating discussions at the weekly sessions; in the latter i teach kids extracurricular subjects at a local government school.
Instrumentalist (piano / guitar / flute) for our company's musical events - currently involved in a project where we will be playing the company's theme song with in-house talent for the first time
Taking spanish and german language classes to enhance my knowledge of these cultures
Aside from this, i had many activities in college including a vehicle design competition where our entry stood second in the country
Unusual interests include digital animation and film-making
i have a professional certification in digital modeling and animation / digital film-making. This helped me tremendously in my college years to produce animated videos for our college events. After college, it has been useful on-and-off as for informally visualizing a few work projects but not much
Currently i am looking to make a transition to finance. I understand that this is difficult being an engineer but i'm taking a few steps to prepare myself.
Target schools
1. Wharton
2. Columbia
3. LBS
4. Kellogg
5. Stern
6. MIT (Sloan)
7. UCLA
8. ISB
In case i do not stand a chance of admission to these schools, i would like to know from your point of view the weaknesses in my profile so that i can work on them and prepare myself to apply again next year
thanks in advance
