To be honest, the top 16 schools are so competitive now that a lower than average GMAT is going to be a major handicap, no matter how strong or unique the rest of your background may be. And for the top 8 schools you listed, you need at least a 700 and ideally a 720+ or else your chances are going to be slim - especially as an international applicant with such a low verbal score (which will be of major concern with any adcom).

Assuming you have a 700+ GMAT, the top 8 schools will be stretches but where you have at least enough of a chance that they're worth applying to 2-3 (i.e. of the schools you listed, focus on 2-3 that you really want to go to). Aside from 2-3 top 8 schools, focus on 4-5 schools in the top 16 (Ross, Duke, Darden, Stern, Cornell, Yale, UCLA, Haas) or INSEAD/LBS -- these are your sweet spots where you have more of a reasonable shot. But all of this assumes a GMAT that is closer to 700 (and ideally a 720+).

What I strongly suggest is that you retake the GMAT. You say you're busy - but so is every other applicant out there. Make the time and retake it if you want to go to b-school badly enough. You can do it!

I agree completely with Alex. You have a really interesting profile but that GMAT score is going to hold you back a bit. The good news is it's almost entirely driven by your Verbal. Why's that good? Because any improvement in Verbal has a disproportionate impact on your overall score. Generally speaking, a 1 point improvement in Verbal is worth more than a 1 point improvement in Quant.

You still have time to give the GMAT another go before R1 / Early apps are due. You really should retake the test.

Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions!
