Many engineers advance to project management without a formal degree program. A formal degree program might enhance your resume, open up more doors and provide you with increased knowledge within the area of project management that your exposure as an engineer does not provide.

I would recommend you calling the school and asking the program about whether they have career placement services to help you obtain the type of employment you seek. Ask them about the salary levels, types of positions, industries, etc. (schools often have an employment report). Then compare this to the salary you already make and whether you would be able to obtain the same type of job without the certificate. Also, look at the courses within the program and see if that knowledge will help you build competencies relevant to your future professional roles.

Good luck,
