First job dilemma

by afzalusername » Mon Dec 17, 2012 12:10 pm
Hello,

I am an Accounting and Finance graduate from UK and now back to my country Bangladesh. As my first job offer I have two option,
1) Audit and Advisory role in KPMG
2) Financial Analyst role in a local Investment Bank, no. 1 in Bangladesh, but unknown outside (have a knowledge partnership with macquire - an Australian Bank.
)
The big4 role will enable me to switch to financial institutions later in a senior position as in Asia, big4 experience is highly regarded and provide better exit opportunities. I want my MBA pretty early in my career therefore don't consider the idea of gaining all king of experience.

I have a 670 GMAT and plan to resit to reach 700 and aim for a top 20 MBA 3/3.5 years down the lane - and ultimately I want to be in Banking. I therefore seek your kindly considered advise which career start will help my MBA candidacy?

Without knowing much about the roles, I would think you will learn more in a role at KPMG. Global firms with known names got that way because they are good and develop talent.
