Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! Well sir,
thanks for writing us here!
You have a very unique industry you come from, and have very good grades and a very good GMAT, so all that is in order. Your age, however will be a big obstacle for you. 33 is pushing the limits for many programs, and you will likely be the olest or one of the oldest guys in your class! So you do need to take this into consideration when you apply.

To evaluate your schools (very roughly, until we get to know you better)
Stanford would be a dream school for you. The chances are slim, especially given the youth of their program, but you can always try.
Sloan and Haas will likely be reaches for you, so a bit easier than Stanford, but by no means a piece of cake!
Ross is more possible for you, and you would be competitive there.

Two few more thoughts I wanted to share with you regarding your age:
1. You may want to consider looking into AMBA programs, EMBA programs and European programs, all of which tend to have classes that are much older than the classic US 2 year MBA, and thus this will increase your chances.
2. If you DO apply to regular MBA programs, make sure you attack the age issue HEAD-ON, showing them your logic and reasons for applying now

Sooo, I hope all of these thoughts help clear thing sup for you a bit and the best of luck to you!

Thanks Jon for your candid feedback! I am grateful to you for spending time on my profile.
Age is something that is beyond repair :-).

I have 3 more questions to ask:

1) What other schools in US would be good for a 2 years program given my age (I love US education system)

2)What is AMBA program?

3)How can I justify my waking up so late in life? what possible reasons can I cite. I mean, before this it never occurred to me that I should do an MBA.

regards
gaurav
