Requesting A Profile Review

by [email protected] » Thu Jun 28, 2012 9:25 pm
Hi sir,

Would request you to please review and evaluate my profile that will help me in shortlisting universities while appearing for GMAT.

Date for GMAT exam :- 15th - Jul-12'

Lowlights of my profile :-
1) Least GPA in Undergraduate degree
2) Not been working since last 1 yr. Took a break from work. I guess it extended beyond anticipation.

Highlights :-
1) Work Ex :- 5 yrs Full Time in Operations. BPO Customer Service industry.
Job Title :- Assistant Manager

Aiming for GMAT score of 700+

Given the above profile details what are my chances of getting through top 20 B-Schools?
Is there anything that could offset the lowlights of my profile?

Also I am aiming at Top B-Schools in Canada and was disappointed to know that they accept Schooling of 16 Yrs only as opposed to what is being exercised in Indian education system in which the Schooling lasts for 15 Yrs including Bachelors. Does that mean that the odds of getting through to a Canadian B-School is low, next to impossible?

I really want to make it big in my career and GMAT is the only way through.

Thanking in anticipation.

indeed some schools will make you take more classes to qualify, but you should have a shot at a top 20 school in the US if you get a killer GMAT score. The year off will probably hurt you unless you have a really good reason for why you took it and can demonstrate something unique and interesting that you accomplished during that time. If not, it might be more beneficial to you to wait another year or two and get on with pursuing something that you want to achieve that will set you up for your post MBA vision well. B-schools put a lot of stock into what you are achieveing had have achieved and will likely not bee impressed with your taking a year off.
