Hi,

GMAT: 650(48Q/31V/4.0A)

I am an indian male techie. I will have 5 years of experience by aug/2010.

I have B.E degree with aggregate of 76%

Professionally, I have few instances such as leading technical team, organizing several team building activities, etc. to shows case my leadership qualities. Technically, I have enabled my employer to get a million dollar deal. I have several customer facing experiences including a short term international business trip.

Personally, I have been associated with many community activities like participating in pulse polio awareness campaign and vaccination campaign, career counseling for kids studying in underdeveloped areas to quote a few.

My achievements in my college are worth mentioning. I have organized several events, ranging from sports events to inter-college technical events, some of which were state(province) level. Since my graduation, I am actively participating in alumni meets.

I am interested in pursuing an MBA degree in finance from USA. What colleges should i target?

Please evaluate my profile and help me to decide the colleges that i should apply to.

Thanks in advance.
Vikram

Hi Vikram,

As you fall into a typical IT Indian male categoray with a below average score, I can only point you towards 3rd tier and state schools. However, you'll struggle on the job front once you graduate from State Universities as an International guy. So, you need to spend sometime thinking on this front. If your plans are to go back and work in India - then this may work out for you. Otherwise, you'll need to take a step back and put some serious thought.

Your other option would be to retake GMAT and improve your chances. You'll need over a 720 score in order to get into 2nd tier schools at this point. Additionally, as the economy scenario has been rough in the US - the pool of diverse candidates that are applying have a better chance of getting admitted than you.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!
