Please evaluate my profile ! 700 GMAT

by ujwal » Sun Sep 28, 2014 1:13 pm
Hello,

I am planning to apply for MS(finance or general management) in US. Following are my particulars:
Nationality : Indian
Work Exp - 3 months
GPA :3.3
GMAT - 700
Target Schools - Michigan Ross, Duke Fuqua , Kellogs , etc.

I have completed B.tech(Computer Science) this year in June from Lovely Professional University and since have been working with a merchant banking firm in Mumbai.
I had been part of an NGO for mentally retarted children during summers of 2013. Also , I am a certified capital market professional of National Stock Exchange. I have done internship in a US based LLC for 6 months(Jan-June 2014).Here i got the opportunity to interact and work with US clients. In college, I had organized an event during tech fest and through rigorous promotions and social media interactions , we were able to get 400% return on our investment of Rs.20k in 3 days. I have been class representative in undergrads for 2 years.

What are my chances of making to best B-Schools for MS programs in US ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ujwal,

You have good profile with solid GMAT/GPA. You should ideally look to apply for minimum 5 B-Schools to increase your chances. You can try Chances of B-School tool by clicking here https://goo.gl/eSPTRt

Hmmm, Well I would need more detail to really dig deep, but I think you can get into one of the Top 20 MS Finance programs (maybe the top 5 or 10 might be a bit tough).

A Masters in Management is (meaning not an MBA, but a degree for those without work experience) is relatively rare in the US, and the notable programs are in Europe, if you are interested in that.

Work experience of only 3 months is too low for these schools. With only 3 months works experience you might want to consider a Masters in Management degree.

Kellogg's M.S. in Management Studies sounds more up your alley and you are eligible to apply since you graduated June 2014 - https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/pro ... llows.aspx.
