I am doing my BA (Hons) in Economics Hons from the University of Delhi from which I'll graduate next year. We do not have a GPA system. I scored 70% in my first year and 70.6% in the second. Both are regarded Distinctions and I topped college in the first year. I scored 91.6% in Class XII (School Leaving exams) and 95% in Class X (High School).
I had 760 in my GMAT; Essay-5.5; IR-7(out of 8)
I have 3 internships. Two at life insurance companies and one at Ernst & Young where I worked on a project on Innovation in the Education System of India. I worked for an NGO for 3 years from 2007/8-2010/11. We did work to rehabilitate tribals, built a school for them did lots of other volunteer work. One things which concerns me is that this was in my school days and so is pretty old. Would that have a bearing on how its weighted?
My extra-currics are a bit weak. Was the executive member of the Economics society in Year 1 and won a Debate competition in Year II. Also served as a volunteer for a program of the Center for Civil Society (Morality of Capitalism) in India.
So thats about it guys. Clearly my achievements aren't very significant. I am thinking of making up for them through my stellar academics and great essays. What schools do you reckon I should apply to?
I am very interested in programs like the Harvard 2+2, Yale Silver Scholars, IESE YTP etc. However, my profile makes me feel I would be just wasting my time and money and that I don't stand a shot at these schools. Also, I am thinking about the Masters in Management programs in Europe and elsewhere specifically the MiM in LBS, HEC Paris, St.Gallen etc. Any advice on shortlisting and my realistic chances at these schools would be much appreciated.
