Applying to schools during recession

by mohitgoel » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:32 am
Hi Apphelp,

Does it make sense to apply to schools specially US bschools this year given the recession or should I wait for one more year so that market bounces back.

I have a typical profile Indian, IT, Male.

Regards
Mohit

Mohit,

In our opinion, it makes even a better sense to go for an MBA in times or recession and get another degree and better skills.
Firstly, by the time you will graduate market conditions will become better so you have bypassed the fear of being laid off etc in your current job.

Secondly, when you will graduate you will be equipped with another degree and better skills which will help you get better salary, role and boost your career.

Just make sure that you apply yo good schools which dont have problems in placing students post graduation.
