Hello,
I took the GMAT a few days ago and got a 620 (Q41 V37 IR8) and was going to apply to a couple of top 20 schools but am now rethinking that strategy. On my practice tests I was scoring high 600s and IR3 so I have no idea how things flip flopped.
Profile details:
Age: 25 yr old female
Undergrad: 3.2 GPA from Top 20 Women's College with a double major in Sociology and Art History. I just finished my state universities' pre-MBA program (3 classes) with a 3.85 GPA.
Work: 3 years as an IR & Compliance assistant in an alternative investment firm dealing directly with clients and regulatory bodies such as the NFA and SEC
Extra-curricular: Head of Tours for Office of Admissions, Museum Educator
Goals: I want to specialize in Law and Business and Marketing. With the ever changing landscape of the compliance world and reforms to marketing in finance, there is a real need for experts to assist alternative investment firms on how to market their products, specifically all the international rules that are being implemented. Due to having a non-business background in my undergrad career, getting an MBA is vital to advance my career.
Any insight and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
-Hanna
