profile evaluation for a military officer

by jpmilitary » Sun Dec 02, 2012 2:44 pm
Hi, I just took the GMAT and scored a 540. I'm applying to UCLA (round 2) and USC, and I was wondering what my chances are at both schools. I know the GMAT score is low, but I didn't study and I don't intend to re-take it, as the deadlines for round 2 are just around the corner. I wanted to see what you thought about the rest of my profile:

-Navy pilot with 6.5 years of military experience, to include management of personnel
-Naval Academy graduate with a degree in General Engineering
-3.02 GPA
-Filipino-American

Thanks!

Hi jpmilitary,

Thanks for posting. Although you had written about your interest in not taking the GMAT test again, I recommend you do, as your score is a fair amount lower than the schools you are looking at. On your application your highest GMAT score is self-reported, which is why admissions teams focus on your best score.

If you decide to take the test again, we provide free tips here: https://www.stacyblackman.com/gmat-files/
