by jeredcollins » Wed Mar 09, 2016 11:36 am
Army Special Forces Logistics Officer (Captain)
11 years of experience
Undergraduate in Criminal Justice 3.46 GPA
1st GMAT scored 440 (canceled score)
2nd GMAT scored 460 (score submitted)
3rd GMAT scored 510 (score submitted)

I have very strong letters of recommendation
Excellent resume shows progression and tough assignments
2x Combat Veteran to Afghanistan

I've applied to UNC Kenan-Flager, Univ. of Cincy Carl Linder, and William & Mary Mason School of Business. My GMAT score is low, however, I've shown improvement each time. Do I stand a chance to get in with my unique demographics?

Thanks for sharing your profile.

You have a unique profile that bring the element of diversity to your target programs. However, as you are aware your GMAT score is well below the target range, and may cause concern on your ability to handle the academics at the MBA level.

I suggest you consider using GMAT test prep services, mastering some easy to medium concepts can greatly boost your GMAT scores to get within the range of scores for your target programs.

You may also consider taking up pre-MBA courses to help prepare you for the MBA courses. Mentioning this, as well as highlighting examples of your accomplishments that demonstrates academic capacity should also help.

Wish you all the best!
