help needed please

good afternoon everyone. i would be more than grateful if you can help me out.

i am planning to join an Mba with lbs in 2011. planning to graduate with 2 concentrations one in private equity and another in entrepreneurship.

but this year i will be joining a masters with the university of reading.

here is were i want you help

i cannot decide whether to do a masters in financial risk management or cooperate finance.

i would be more than grateful if you can help me choose

Go with what interests you most. However, seems like you are interested in both, so another consideration, probably, what is more marketable, applicable. I would go for Financial Risk Management. It's a hot topic of the day. But more importantly, with the latest attempts to put every sphere of economy and public life -from healthcare to financial industry- under government control, you can reasonably expect there will be more beuracratic restraints, regulations, compliance requirements. Thus, the government will require more feasibility studies, risk assessment, and other paperwork to demonstrate due dilligence to the public. Financial Risk Management is probably going to become not only in bigger demand, but also fueled by government money. So you will always have a job, even on corporate side, to meet government's demands. This to a big degree has happenned to the IT, where security is and going to be the hottest specialization for a while.

Second the earlier post on financial risk management being hot topic of the next few years. Also, I think there is ample room to navigate from that platform to others -- corporate finance, CFO positions, etc now need a rotation in risk management to be considered comprehensive.
