I am in some big trouble experts and fellow gmat test takers. My exam is on the 24th that is 2 days from now and i am not prepared.I havnt touched on sentence correction,IR and AWA. I have done a lot of maths some months ago but wasnt practicing regularly. In verbal in the last few days i have just been able to do RC.
I gave my first mock test and got a score of 530 around 2 days back,my target is 700.
Now i have 2 days left should I write the exam even after being aware of the fact that i will not get a good score and will have to give the 2nd attempt
Its not like i can reschedule with 50 dollar anymore.gmat has asked me to pay whole 250 dollar again for rescheduling in such a short notice.
So I anyway dont get any refund.I have paid 250 either i reschedule it and pay 250 or just give the exam and again pay 250 for the next attempt.
Money is not an issue.I am worried that if i go and write it,it will be like a wasted attempt and may be some colleges dnt like students with multiple attemps
My brother advises me to give it as an experience or mock because he feels i have nothing to lose.
What would you all suggest
1)Do i go and give it now (treating it like a mock exam)
2)Reschedule it and not waste my 1st attempt
Please Reply asap

As you said the $50 rescheduling fee only applies if you reschedule at least 7 days prior to your appointed test day.

Having just scored a 530 you have almost no chance of suddenly getting a 700 right? That would be a true Christmas miracle.

At this point you really have a couple of pros and cons to taking the exam.

Pros to taking the exam:

1) You will have a really valid score - more reliable than a practice test score.

2) You might do better than your practice test which might motivate you. Yet a practice test could serve the same purpose.

3) You paid the fee so it is at this point a free exam.

Cons to taking the exam:

1) Yes you will have a score that is from the actual GMAT -- however, as a con you will not know what you missed. Unlike a practice test you will not be able to review it in any way. So if you get a low score you will not really know why. You can guess what happened but you will not know.

2) If you are susceptible to psychological setbacks you might not deal very well with seeing a really low score and not even knowing which questions you missed.

3) 31 DAYS until you can take it again. If you even set foot in the test center then you cannot take the exam again for another 31 days.

You have to decide whether you want to have the experience, even at the risk of a low score. Colleges are not going to count you out if you take the test more than once. This is really more about what you want to do, knowing that you cannot get the money back and that you most likely will not get the score you need.

I will miss my winter intake deadline if I do not give the test day after so I will be trying for spring there is a gap of around 45 days between the two so 31 days shouldnt be a problem. Will being aware of how the real test is like gives any bigger experience than the mocks?
Also I am not able to complete mocks on time i am guessing more than half the verbal and maths. So my score keeps fluctuation, now that shows lack of preparation in itself
I dnt feel ready at all.
Will my chances in HEC paris reduce if i miss the 2014 winter intake and try for spring? And what about chances of getting some scholarship
