(A) $1,600 loss

CP of 1800 units@6$ each=6*1800=10800$
SP of 800 units @ 8$ each=6400$
SP of 1000 units @5$=5000$
total SP=11400
profit=11400-10800=600$

sold 800 units for $8 each so 800*8= $6400 (sale 1).
sold 1000 units for $5 each so 5*1000 = $5000 (sale 2)

cost of units sold in sale 1 = $6*800=$4800
cost of units sold in sale 2 = $6*1000=$6000

now all wehave to do is subtract things. taeaway the cost of each from its sale.

and you are left with a +$600 and thats your profit. so the answer is D.

The company made a total revenue of (800 x 8 + 1,000 x 5) = 6400 + 5000 = $11,400.

The total cost was 6 x 1800 = $10,800.

So, the profit was 11,400 - 10,800 = $600.
