If one number is chosen at random from the first 1000 positive integers, what is the probability that the number is a multiple of both 2 and 8?

Hi,
Multiple of both 2 and 8 means multiple of 8.
There are 125 multiples of 8 in 1 to 1000.
So, probability is 125/1000 = 1/8.

so 1000/8 = 125

125/1000 = 1/8

LCM of 2,8 = 8

thus 1000/8 = 125

hence 125/1000 = 0.125
