Hi Ed,
In my opinion, the OG is good for practice but is not sufficient because it doesn't teach concepts or show how to implement solving strategies on GMAT questions. I would suggest:
*MGMAT strategy guides to learn the fundamental concepts tested.
*GMAC's Official Guide 12 for practicing actual GMAT style questions
*GMATFix OG12 Companion for in-depth explanations and strategy
