What is the % change in the area of a rectangle when its length increases by 10% and its width decreases by 10%?

B. 20% increase

Initial area L*B

After changes 1.1 L * 0.9 B = 0.99 L*B

Decrease in area 0.01 L*B

Let L = 10 and B= 10. Area = 100
Now L =11 and B = 9. Area = 99.

So 1% decrease
