General GMAT mathematics refresher course

by elicohen » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:52 am
I've been out of college for over a decade and pretty much lost all of my basic math skills (algebra, statistics, geometry, etc.) It's so bad that I signed up for Knewton and had to hold off on the course b/c I couldn't keep up w/ the mathematics. Does anyone know of a course (online, offline or even a book (that I can provide to a tutor)) that presents the mathematics covered in the GMAT as a comprehensive refresher course?

HI Elicohen!

I know that we (Manhattan GMAT) have a Foundations of Math book that will help prep your basic math skills for an upcoming course. We also have 2 Foundations of Math (live online) workshops that might help.

I know that LOTS of students have this same issue; math is definitely use it or lose it!!

I agree the Manhattan GMAT foundation book is useful. Another one that I prescribe to students to brush up their basics is Jeff Sackman's Math Bible. Pick just 1 book and get the basics out of the way.

Google is your friend. A lot of topics have very detailed explanation on various websites. I recommend whenever you are stuck (or need a change) just google that topic out.
