Median daily electricity - GMAT Prep

by singalong » Sat May 28, 2011 4:44 am
For the 5 days shown in the graph, how many kilowatt-hours greater was the median daily electricity use than the average (arithmetic mean) daily electricity use?

a)1

b)2

c)3

d)4

e)5

How is the answer a? I am sure I am missing something silly here. OA is c.

IMO A
Mean = 26
Median - arrange all numbers in ascending order - 19, 24, 27, 29, 31
and thus median is 27
median - mean =1
Hence A.
