In the x-y coordinate system, what is the slope of the line that goes through the origin and is equidistant from the two points P=(1,11) and Q =(7,7)?

a) 2
b) 2.25
c) 2.5
d) 2.75

The point that will be equidistant from the points (1, 11) and (7, 7) will be the midpoint of the line passing through these points.
Coordinates of the midpoint will be {(1 + 7)/2, (11 + 7)/2} = (4, 9)

Now slope of a line passing through the two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
So, the slope of the line passing the two points (0,0) and (4,9) = (9 - 0)/(4 - 0) = 9/4 = 2.25

The correct answer is B.
