A right cylindrical container with radius 2 meters and height 1 meter is filled to capacity with oil. How many empty right cylindrical cans, each with radius meter and height 4 meters, can be filled to capacity with the oil in this container?
(A) 1 (B) 2 (C) 4
(D) 8 (E) 16

The answer is A. If you look at the formula for the volume of a cylinder it's pie*h*r^2

In this case for the first cylinder the volume is pie*1*2^2 = 4*pie

The second cylinder is pie*4*1^2 = 4*pie (this is assuming the radius was one, your question didn't specify.) So the ratio is one to one between the two cylinders Ie you can fill it once [/img]
