z^2 = x^2 + y^2 --> z^2 = (y + 2)^2 + y^2 = 2y^2 + 4y + 4 = 2(y^2 + 2y) + 4
we know that 48 = y^2 + 2y. Therefore, z^2 = 2.48 + 4 =100 --> z=10
