Geometry - square and circunference

If these are 2 squares, the 2 vertice of the bigger and 1 vertice of the smaller are in the cfa and diameter = 2sq(5), which is the area of the smaller???

Help, I could find the area of the bigger but I don't know how to find the smaller.

Kindly post the full question with the choices.

I am not very sure, but I am getting areas as 4 for bigger square and 1 for smaller square.

I solved the same way you did and I guess it does not take any shorter than that. Clean solution.

Thank you guys! I couldnt see the second step...

Unfortunatly I do not have the options, this was my question 8 on the "real thing" and I forgot the options. Mental's solution is completely logic.

Oh yeah, so this is a GMAT question. GMAT GONE CRAZY!! ;-) But at least if we ever see this question, we will all mark 1 and move on :)

This question proves that GMAT questions can get UGLY..REALLY UGLY!
