Stmt 1: distance between r & 0 is 3 times the distance between m & 0. We don't know if m is on the positive side of 0 or the negative side of 0, so we will not know what is the value of r

Stmt 2: 12 is in between m & r. We do not know if m is greater than 12 or r. Insufficient.

Together, we can determine that r is 3 times m & 12 comes in between (half the distance). The only values of m & r that satisfy this condition is m=6 & r=18.

So, C is the answer.

Mjjking :D

A gives

r........0...m or 0...m........r ( This is symmetric about negative axis)
3p p p 2p

No numbers given so insuff

B gives

0...m......12.....r
k k insuff

Combining both 2p=2k ... insuff

Ans E
