GMAT Score:750
I met a girl at a bar a few months ago, she graduated from Berkeley Haas. Naturally, since it's one of the schools I might want to apply to, I asked her what she scored on the GMAT. She said 730 - 99th percentile.

I scored a 730 last month, but it was only 96th percentile. Is the prevalence of GMAT prep services producing a lot more high scorers than before?

I'm assuming that a 730 a few years ago is worth more to an adcom than a 730 today, since in a competition for spots, what matters the most out of your score is the percentile ranking, right? Since performance is relative and all...

730 has not been in the 99th percentile in at least 10 years... It was 750 then. Can't comment on before, but she seems to have been stretching the truth. Yes, prep services have raised scores, but a 730 is still above every schools average, so they are still considering other things...

Don't think she was stretching the truth. Sorry, I should've have said "girl". She seemed significantly older than me. At least by 7 years, if not more. I'm 26 years old. So it is possible. I was just wondering...

I'm seriously considering a retake.
