Score interpretation for 1 section?

by nehs » Thu Sep 02, 2010 11:14 am
Has anyone tried taking only 1 section on a GMAT prep test(either verbal or quant)?
How can we interpret the scores?
I took a princeton review prep test and the damned software just gor reset after my verbal! I don't know how. Then, when I click one button it says that my score is 370 with 0 questions answered in the Verbal section. I am not even able to re-take the verbal section

Usually it tells you what your individual section score is. For example, 48 for quant is somewhere around 84%.

I tried to take only one section in GPREP,but the software didn't allow me to.So for the section I want to skip, what I do is just click whatever options I feel like without seeing the question. I have normally done this with skipping Quant. For some reason it always showed my quant score as 6.

Thanks,uwhusky and Ryandark.
does this mean that if I take the verbal section separately; then my total score would be roughly the scores of the 2 individual sections?
Yes, when my verbal section was skipped; it showed a score of 9.
In my case, quant was 75%.

Any rough estimate of my total score possible here?

It's difficult to provide an accurate estimate because the score might be inflated without going through the marathon process of AWA, quant, then verbal.

There are online calculators which you can plug in quant and verbal score and it will tell you the estimated total score.

I agree that it is going to be hard to estimate the total. I was hoping to get a rough idea on the calculation
Hmm, any links to such online calculators? I searched for such applications, but I only got results of GMAT test estimations based on practise tests taken.

I took the verbal section of my prep test separately(because the software had issues and crashed!! after quant section) and got a 350. Previously, I had got 390 on the Quant. Does anyone know if I could make a rough estimate of my total GMAT score with these 2 individual scores(350 and 390)?

I am really anxious, please let me know if any of you have any calculations.
