i guess people have mentioned that real gmat sc is quite complex.people cannot apply any rule, it will be mostly by intuitiveness and go by ear .obscure idioms are sometimes tested like difference bwtween

As per my real exam experience, you can apply rules in almost 90 % of SC's and generally they test simple and common idioms.

Difference between X and Y

such idioms, i consider simple and common, not a complex one.

or one needs to do 1000 sc
or read american English word usage
