Gmat verbal review Question: # 53

by dinesh19aug » Sun Aug 01, 2010 1:05 pm
This is a parallelism error question, however I was just wondering what is the subject in this question. Is it "model" or "executives"

#53. The normative model of strategic decision making suggests that executives examine a firms' external environment and internal conditions, and in using the set of objective criteria they derive from these analysis, can decide on strategy.

I believe that the subject is "model" and the verb here is "suggests". Am I correct?

By the way the correct sentence should be parallel with "examine and, ....... decide"

You're right.

Model is the subject. Suggests is the verb.

"THAT executives blah blah" is the object or WHAT the model suggests.

Executives is a subject of the clause; so not the main subject.

Examine has to be in agreement with executives.
