This is a good one actually.

A --> If more subscribers under 35 are never ordering in response to ads, this proves the first survey but gives no clue about survey 2.

B --> it doesnt matter how much number is now compared to last year. This year is not considered in any of the surveys.

C --> This again strengthens survey 1 but doesn't give any clue for survey 2

D --> Avg dollar amount is out of scope here.

E --> Now this is a good statement. Many ppl who placed orders for merchandise were not subscribers to magazine. So it means, that magazine is true in saying that 30% of subscribers who placed orders were under 35. And the second survey recieved more number of orders from ppl less than 35 due to the fact that many ppl who placed orders were not the subscribers to magazine.
This statement resolves the conflict between both the surveys. :-)
