Should I take a class

Hi All,

I need your opinion on taking "verbal" class from veritas prep. Its a 2 day verbal class for 18 hours. I dont know how useful it would be. Just to give you some background info, I wrote a test from GMAT prep 2 weeks back and scored 600 on it (Q49, V25) without any prep. So clearly I need to improve my verbal score, which is why I was looking into this prep course. But I am wondering how useful a two day class would be, esp considering that my verbal is not out of this world. Would I be able to grasp the concepts taught in a crash course in 2 days? The problem I have with other prep courses is that they concentrate equally on math and verbal and I know my Quant is strong enough to go to 51 if I practice.

Anyways, any comments from people who have taken this course would be highly appreciated :)

Thanks

I've never taken the course so I can't say from experience whether it's good or not, but I can tell you that there are only a few types of questions and topics covered in the GMAT. If you can learn about the types of questions and the strategies to attack them efficiently then you can do well on verbal. The point is that I think it's possible to learn the types and strategies over a two day course. But it would only serve as a beginning point - you would still need to put in many more hours to see how those strategies are applied in practice. That you cannot do in a two-day course. Do not come out of the course expecting your score to jump from V25 to V40.

I should hope that by the end of the course, you would have the knowledge and skills necessary to do well - how you leverage that information depends on you.
