How close are the Kaplan Premier CAT 2013 scores to the real GMAT?
I am very confused at this point as to which tests (other than GMAT Prep as these are very limited in number) to use to better assess my progress.

Has anyone taken the Kaplan tests this year and completed his/her GMAT as well? If yes, can you please post your scores so I can get some idea as to where I stand.

I just took the Kaplan Test CAT 1 and scored a 620 - not sure what to make of it.
The first test I took was GMAT Prep1 a couple of weeks ago and my score was only 480.

Hi sshobha,

The Kaplan CATs are fairly accurate for the most part, although they become less so at the extreme ends of the scale. I'd suggest that you take a good look at that entire CAT and make note of what you got correct/incorrect and WHY. Were your wrong answers because of silly/minor mistakes, concepts that you didn't know or "hard" questions. Your improvement will come once you eliminate the silly mistakes and fill in any "holes" in your knowledge.

If you're looking for CATs, we suggest the 2 free CATs from MBA.com and the 6-pack of CATs from ManhattanGMAT ($50 or so), but the bulk of your time needs to spent on practice.

I just wanted to point out that you can take the official GMATPrep tests multiple times. Yes, you will see some repeated questions, but not that many. If you're interested, I wrote an article for BTG on this topic: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/03/ ... iple-times

Cheers,
