Chemical reactions is a plural subject, so the verb needs to also be plural. Ans C has the verb "has" in singular form, so C is eliminated.
In ans D, the last part of the sentence, "which are highly corrosive" is a non restrictive clause and refers only to nitric acids, when it needs to refer to both sulfuric and nitric acids. Eliminate D
Only answer E correctly addresses all the issues above.
