Advice for study plan

by rocky440 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 12:53 pm
I just took my Diagnostic Exam(before any studying) and recieved a 440 Quant 33 and verbal 11. The material i have is the og 12 edition, 2nd edition verbal, 2nd edition quant. The 2007 manhattan gmat prep guides and kaplan gmat verbal foundation.

I am also enrolled in the gmax online course.

I will appriciate any advice. I would like to take the gmats in three months. and get 670+

To get 670+ you'll need raw scores in 40s. So I would definitely prioritize verbal.

Manhattan guides are good, but don't really lay down a grammar foundation. Check out some basic English grammar books. Do you have any sense of whether you did better in reading comprehension, critical reading, or sentence correction?

A scaled score of 11 on Verbal is not impressive at all and if you wanna get around 670 , you'll need an average of 40,as pointed out by Cbenk121, on both the sections- give or take few point. Going by your Verbal score, I think that you're a)not very familiar with the English language b) not been much into the habit of reading . I think it'd be better to firstly build up your foundation and then work upwards. You may wanna go through the basics of grammar, and then start with the MGMAT Guides. Also I highly suggest that you get into the habit of reading. Read as much as possible and as diverse material as possible.

Thank you. The reading comprehension was the most difficult. I bought the kaplan Verbal Foundation book i am going to do. I also enrolled in the gmax online course.
