This should be fairly easy but the explanation in the back of the Quant Review doesn't make too much sense. Any help is appreciated.

If x not equal to 2, then [3x^2(x-2)-x+2]/(x-2)

A)3x^2-x+2
B)3x^2+1
C)3x^2
D)3x^2-1
E)3x^2-2

[3x^2(x-2)-x+2]/(x-2)

=3x^2(x-2)-(x-2)/(x-2)

=(x-2)(3x^2-1)/(x-2)

=3x^2-1
