question taken from another forum... but I thing that here is is the best so...

Is anyone familiar with the MLICETS GMAT prep courses and study guides (www.mlicets.org)? Apparantly, they specialize in courses for candidates that envisage breaking the 700 barrier. They are very outspoken about the lack of value offered by other well known brands, e.g. Kaplan, PR, ARCO and even OG - perhaps fair comments?

Overall, the study guides look like a fair deal. I do hope this is not another "gmat-secrets" in disguise. Any opinions? Regards, G

Don't go with the materials from this company. I've heard only BAD things about their materials.

Yes, they do smear the other test prep companies a lot in their marketing!

From what I saw of them, they also spam the forums a lot, trying to sound like real students asking about the products or giving phony rave reviews.

I am very upset that I did not get to read this forum first. I am currently enrolled with MLIC now and am very upset about many things already. I am in an accelerated course with them at this time and have to take my GRE June 23rd. The email with the material that they sent to me is 180+ pages of information that is no different than reading GREEK! I even expressed my concern to the teacher about this. Tonight there was supposed to be an online class. I took off work for this class and lost $400+ due to not working. The teacher did not show up, nor did I get a phone call or an email until I wrote her 3 times expressing my concern. Finally when she did write back, she said "We have a technical problem and trying to fix it. If it does not get fixed in the next 20 minutes we will reschedule it for Tuesday." GREAT! I was supposed to work on Tuesday and I don't get home from work until 9 pm- so another day of lost work pay in this economy.
Here, let me just give you the emails that I have been sending:

Me: After I came up with the "maybe statements" (that I came up with and sent to you earlier) I was able to put this together in about 5 minutes strictly referring to the example. Can you give me your opinion please?

Her: It's perfect.

Me: I really do not mean to be a pain to you but I am having another problem. Am I the only person to complain that the Quantitative Concepts in A Nutshell is mostly like reading a bunch of greek? Not to mention it is so vast that it is impossible for me to remember all of it. I am MUCH better going straight to applying the data rather than reading a bunch of info then doing the problems. My issues lies in that there is no reference pages next to the Quantative Comparison Assignment so that I can go straight to the problems, look at it, then refer over to the reading part (from two different places). Just to find the reading section that explains the very first problem I have to read over 145 pages (Nutshell and Quantative Assessment). Is there at the very least some sort of index of these two that can be provided?
I will be there for the online review but I have to work this next week several days and am trying to get a head start on these problems.

Her: You can go to the Quantitative preprogram assignment file, which explains the relevant concepts and illustrates them with examples before asking you to complete concept-specific assignments. Complete that file to the best of your ability and we will go to the next level. The meeting scheduled for Sunday will allow you to grasp the requirements and concepts so that you can feel more confident. The nutshell file summarizes the properties of numbers, etc. and illustrates several procedures such as prime factoring, least common multiple, etc. You still need to know the properties of numbers such as prime numbers, etc. Review the first 4-5 pages and then begin to work on the math assignment file.
